It was no secret to the Millbrook community that Coole Park Farm had been on the market for some time, with many wondering what would become of one of the quintessential equestrian properties in the Millbrook Hunt Country. A key equestrian venue to the Millbrook community, including the long-standing Millbrook Horse Trials, and host to many of the Millbrook Hunt’s opening meets and famous breakfasts, Coole Park Farm’s property is deeply rooted in Millbrook’s equestrian tradition.
It was just this past winter that Coole Park found itself changing hands from David and Connie Clapp, who had previously owned the farm, to new owner Riga Meadow Property, another long-standing equestrian operation, which had previously been based just over the Connecticut border in Salisbury. A well known and long-standing equestrian professional in the Millbrook Area, Darrah first found her roots here when she moved from Rochester, NY to the Millbrook area to work for Event Rider Louise Meryman in 1990. Nearly thirty years later, Darrah has competed all the way to the four-star level, produced many successful horses, developed her own business, and is now based out of Shekomeko Creek Farm, owned by Guy and Caroline Merison, where she trains numerous Millbrook riders and has her own exciting up-and-coming horses. Booli Selmayr grew up with horses, and her daily routine continues to revolve around riding. Booli grew up in the Westchester County area, before relocating to Millbrook in the spring of 2007, when she secured a job as the Whipper-In for the Millbrook Hunt. After many years of whipping-in and balancing her event riding, she decided to pursue her eventing dreams full time, and went to work for Bonnie Stedt in January 2014. Fast forward five years, and Booli has created a successful equestrian training business based out of Fox Race Farm, owned by Kelly Morgan, with an exciting string of upper-level horses, up-and-coming young horses, and a dedicated bunch of clients who train with her regularly.
