Volunteer at the Millbrook Horse Trials

The Millbrook Horse Trials could not be put on without the endless hours of help from our committed volunteers. It takes over 250 volunteers to run this event and we are grateful for the help of each one of them.

Enjoy a day in the country watching an exciting competition and become part of the MHT event. Each event level — dressage, stadium jumping and cross country — requires a large number of volunteers. Choose the discipline and time that works for you and let us know. Assignment slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis with the exception of certain jobs that require specific expertise.

As a thank you for all your hard work, full-day volunteers will be invited to a party with all the competitors during the course of Horse Trials (details to follow), and a Free Clinic in August (date to come) with Louise Meryman and Darrah Alexander on the Cross Country course. As a volunteer you should expect to spend at least a half day at each assignment. Some assignments may require an early morning briefing 6:00 am), but most morning shifts start at 7:00-7:30 am. Afternoon shifts generally run from noon until competition ends for the day.

Volunteers will be provided with lunch, cold beverages, and a volunteer staff t-shirt. Each volunteer should bring his/her own chair, bug spray, sun block, hat, extra clothing, and rain gear. ​

Please DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG! It is not safe for the dog or the competitors. Check with the volunteer coordinator if you want to bring children with you to determine if your assignment allows you to supervise them or if we may have a job for them while you volunteer.

Can't volunteer during the competition? ​Come help us on the Monday or Tuesday before the event! All benefits apply.
