The Winner's Circle Trifecta
Introducing… the inaugural ‘Millbrook Horse Trials Winner’s Circle Trifecta!’ Predict the winners of the Advanced Division of The Horse Trials and take home the pot!
Trifecta tickets will be sold at the entrance to the Luncheon on Sunday. Bring $20 in cash to play. Tickets must be purchased before the start of the Advanced Division show jumping. You do not have to attend the Luncheon to participate.
To win the Trifecta , you have to predict, in the correct order, the horse/rider combination to come in first, second and third in the Advanced Division.
Like a Triathlon, a Horse Trials is a competition with the phases. The same Horse/rider combination must complete all 3 phases : Dressage, Cross country and Show jumping. The winner is the Horse/Rider combination with the fewest penalty points at the end of the final phase, the show jumping phase.
The show jumping phase is typically the final and thus the deciding phase. This is the case at the Millbrook Horse trials. Riders will enter the show jumping phase with their penalty score to date. Their goal in show jumping is to jump a clear round within the allotted time and thus incurring no additional penalties.
Each horse & rider combination’s ranking entering the show jumping phase on Sunday will be posted on Saturday after completion of the cross country phase. It will be available on a print out on Sunday morning and the leaderboard will be posted at the Trifecta Table at the entrance to the luncheon on Sunday. We will also have some well known eventing experts at the Trifecta table on the Sunday to help give you insider information on who they think you should bet on!
Sign up here to have the results emailed to you on Saturday night. We look forward to welcoming you to the Millbrook Horse Trials this year and having some fun with the inaugural MHT Winner’s Circle Trifecta!
