The Millbrook Horse Trials is proud to benefit Dutchess Land Conservancy (DLC) for the eleventh consecutive year. Since our inception in 2001, we have raised over $500,000 for this important organization.
For over twenty-five years, DLC has been dedicated to preserving for the public for present and future generations the scenic, agricultural and environmental resources of Dutchess County, New York, including open spaces, forests, water resources and wildlife habitats.
DLC carries out its mission by obtaining through donation or purchase, conservation easements on privately held land and monitoring these easements in perpetuity. DLC works with a number of organizations to encourage environmentally-sound land planning.
Each year, this nationally-recognized event is held at Coole Park Farm, a DLC easement-protected property. Land conservation is vitally important in preserving open spaces so necessary for outdoor equestrian pursuits. Without the sustained open-land preservation efforts of DLC, the continuation of many outdoor recreational and sporting activities, including the Millbrook Horse Trials, would not be possible.
At the Horse Trials we offer a number of opportunities to support DLC, including sponsorships www.millbrookhorsetrials.com/sponsors-how-to.html and purchasing tickets to the Patrons’ Luncheon www.millbrookhorsetrials.com/patrons-lunch.html.
